Voice from news clip: Tonight’s top story, more and more consumers are reporting that they too, are unable to find the Roos. And stores are at a loss for words.
Voice from phone call recording: What if we just lean into the cross-border stuff? Like a little smuggle-a-roo.
Voice from interview: It was such a classic. Everyone knows the song.
Multiple voices singing: Dunkaroos, dunkaroos. You don’t just eat, you dunkaroo!
Devin: We’ll start by going back. We’re talking 2012. You’re walking through the grocery store and turn down the snack aisle. I’m not talking about the chips and crackers kind of snacks. I’m talking about the individual packs of snacks to-go. They’re portable and delicious. You pick up the sky blue box. A six pack of mini cookies and just enough frosting to dip them all in. Into your cart it goes, through the check out, past the doors, and into your life. But only for a short while. A six pack is a criminally small quantity for these delights. But that’s not the real crime here.
The real crime is what happens next. From the cultural phenomenon and the cartel, to the war on sugar and the comeback, come along as we very seriously examine the rise, and fall, and rise of Dunkaroos.
